New Enrollment for 2027

Enrollment for the 2027 April Preschool Program has started in October 2026.

Our Philosophy

Doremi Garden Preschool is an International Preschool, which focuses on nurturing children's hearts and minds in a warm and loving English environment.
We always take into consideration and implement what we feel are the most important things for early childhood education and development. We provide hands on programs so children can experience, touch and play while learning with various real-life materials in a fun and safe environment. Our program is carefully designed to develop English communication skills. We teach discipline, manners, and rules in a group setting. We feel these daily life tasks are important to learn for their development at this age. We also teach fundamental English writing, reading and phonics through age appropriate textbooks, as well as other subjects like science and math.

Classes for the 2027 School Year

We are enrolling students now for the 2027 school year starting from April.
Mid-year entry before April is also available. Applications are accepted by email from October 2026.

Childcare Subsidies from Your Local Ward

Many families assume that an international preschool is financially out of reach. In recent years, however, the subsidies offered by Tokyo wards have increased substantially.
Our school holds a certificate confirming that we meet the supervisory standards for unlicensed childcare facilities. Because of this, families can receive a monthly subsidy toward tuition from the ward where they live.

Sunny Class (2-year-old class)	up to 80,000 yen
Star / Rainbow / Sky Class (ages 3 to 5)	up to 77,000 yen

Several neighbouring wards now apply these upper limits, and a growing number of families find that their actual monthly cost is far lower than expected. An English-immersion environment is more affordable than most people imagine.

The amount and the range of eligible expenses vary by ward, by household tax status, and by the parents' employment situation. Costs such as the school bus and uniform are generally not covered. As the conditions differ from family to family, we recommend contacting your local ward office directly to confirm what applies to you before submitting your application.

How to Apply

We invite you to observe a regular class in a small group, so that you can see how the children naturally spend their day. School visits are by appointment.

School visit → Application documents (October to November 2026) → Interview (usually on Thursdays; other days can be arranged) → Enrollment procedures

To request application documents, please email us with your child's name, your address, telephone number, email address, and what drew you to our school (including the name of the person who referred you, if any). We will send the documents to you, or hand them to you at your visit.

We also welcome enquiries about sudden transfers due to relocation, and mid-year entry in September for families planning to continue to an international elementary school.

Afternoon Lessons

Doremi Garden provides a variety of afternoon lessons after preschool. Your child can stay at school from 10:00am until the evening by choosing fun, academic, creative and exciting afternoon lessons. We have a school bus with various pick-up and drop-off routes, as well as extended care and school lunch.
